Written by Beatrice Bottomley, and published into the antiAtlas Journal #2 this article focuses on a collection of short stories by the Palestinian writer Raji Bathish: On Countries and Hotels (2007). The stories take place in hotel rooms that are marked by the strong presence of media, or means of communication, allowing for a disassembling of linear time and place. To what extent does this enable the text to produce a space of movement? And what is the potential of such a space?
